Received this message on Ok Cupid. Not sure what I’m supposed to do with this. He’s local. And 18. I also looked up how to join a convent. Just 4 easy steps. Sounds a lot easier than dating.
Off to the chiropractor in a few minutes. My whole lower half aches today. Legs are achy, achy, achy. Its not like 7.71 miles was a big stretch. I did that last Thursday, so come on, body. I was going to run tonight, but may just stick to cross training. Or do a short treadmill run after strength.
Nia Shanks: Stop Weighing on the Scale for Weight... →
jogswithstroller: I am going to stop weighing for 30 days. I weigh everyday, I can’t even tell you why I do this. It’s like a reflex. Wakeup, pee, weigh, shower. Everyday for many many many years. Since I was in middle school and even when I was pregnant (which is terrible to do…). I think I have known I need to put it away and focus on how I feel, how I train, and how I look. I live and die...
Is it just me that thinks the Czechoslovakian women are wearing their sports bras on the outside?
Well, I was wrong. Almost 8. 7.71 miles to be exact. 1 hour 34 minutes; 12:11 pace. Little slower than I thought, but I’m okay with that, because I threw in a few walking breaks to drink some water and mess with my MP3.
I did it! Run done! I’m not sure what the mileage was because I need to map it, but I’m thinking between 6 and 7. Felt pretty good too. I felt it in my quads on the trip back, but that’s probably from the hills on the hike I did on Saturday and my hip flexors still being too tight. For those who asked about my date/non-date. It wasn’t a date. I knew him clear back in...
Not only does too much vodka make you very tired and dehydrated, it apparently takes away all your motivation to run. But I will rise above the post-vodka haze and run tonight. I will. I WILL!
Public Service Announcment
Vodka does not make for good pre-run feul. 2:55 and I’m beat and still no run. I need a good bitch slap upside my head.
Back home from hike and I’ve been invited to come over to the hot guy’s place for drinks. 14 mile run tomorrow. I should stay home and hydrated. Of course, I said yes.
Yap, Yap, Yap...
They are going to yap through the whole opening ceremony, aren’t they? Shut the FUCK UP. I’ll figure it out for myself!
Morning Workout Done! Woot! Boy, it was hard to get out of bed and go. To run 8 miles and then do a morning workout less than 12 hours later? I guess that’s good for the endurance. A few things summarized by bullet point: Felt bad leaving Jack and Ella because I didn’t get much time with them last night to play or cuddle them. Ella gave me a “where the hell are you...
Michael, you’re right. I need to remind myself how far I’ve come. There was a time when the idea of running 1 mile seemed impossible. Now I’m just doing 8 miles for a training run like it’s no big deal. Thanks!
8 miles with Westcoastrunner. Bless her heart, she endured bad traffic and came downtown tonight and ran 8 miles with me. I think she’s going to post the stats, but let me tell you it wasn’t pretty—for either of us. But the miles were logged and that’s what matters. Now excuse me while I foam roll the gigantic knot I have in my calf.
Found this today! Exactly what I’m looking for! Who wants to bet I’ll be the slowest one in the pool? :)
I'm in Corral...!
Oh, wait, wrong marathon. All be in my own little corral, all alone, in Portland, Oregon. Sniff!
They were giving these out at my gym and I have to say these are quite tasty. There is some saturated fats (6 grams), but only 6 grams of sugar. Not sweet at all. And 10 grams of protein. 190 calories.
I was driving in this morning and thinking about my workout for tomorrow. Sure, I haven’t even started or finished my 8 miles I have to do today, but that’s how I roll. I was thinking I would get up early and come in and do it in the morning and it would be over with. I’ve been doing strength stuff, but feel like I’ve been slacking some because I don’t want to make...
Well, I went to the chiropractor and I’m not paralyzed. Now, you can take this as good news (hey I can still run the marathon!) or bad news (no paralysis means I had to do hill repeats). Back next Tuesday for more. We warmed up, and then trekked up this trail to Terwilliger where he told us what to do. There were five poles evenly spaced about. Start at 80% and at each pole increase...
Then you need to come back to Portland so we can run upand down Terwilliger together! It will be super fun! And maybe we can get runswithpoodles and westcoastrunner to join us! :)
